His designs have nothing to do with fashion. He simply cultivates space with the aim of visual attractiveness and smooth function, using the right materials which can do no harm to either people or the environment.
Jiri studied architecture at the University of Applied Arts in Prague and furniture design at the Royal College of Art in London. In 1987 he founded an art group ATIKA which caught the attention with an extravagant design.
Jiri teaches at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague and lectures at local and foreign universities.
As an interior designer Jiri realized interiors for ex-president Vaclav Havel at Prague Castle, interiors of the embassies in Rome and Pretoria.
In 2006 he won the National Award for design and cost Form 2006 in Germany. It is also the winner of the Czech Grand Design.
